Okay Night City legends, gather around because I just went through something HEART-WRENCHING in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. We all fell in love with Solomon Reed – that brooding, duty-bound FIA agent with a voice smoother than synth-leather. I mean, look at this guy. A total unit.

But I’m not here to simp over Reed (even though I could). I’m here because I wanted his iconic pistol, Pariah, and my chooms, the method to get it is BRUTAL. If you’re like me and NEED every iconic weapon in your stash wall, keep reading – but be ready for major feels.

⚠️ HEAVY SPOILERS FOR PHANTOM LIBERTY AHEAD. You’ve been warned.

The Only Way 😢

Let me get this out of the way: you can only get Solomon Reed’s Pariah by killing him during the quest called “The Killing Moon.” Yes. You have to put down one of the most layered characters in the entire expansion. My heart still hasn't recovered.

Here’s exactly what you need to do:

  • You must carry Songbird toward the space shuttle near the end of the mission.

  • When Reed orders you to place So Mi’s body on the ground, you’ll get a prompt to hold the Aim button. Do it.

  • This triggers a slow-motion standoff. It’s tense. It’s cinematic. I was literally sweating.

  • Press the Fire button to shoot Reed at least 3 times. He won’t go down easy, but the deed must be done.

Once he falls… you pick up Songbird again, place her in the shuttle, and watch her escape. After the dust settles, walk over to Reed’s body and loot Pariah (Tier 5+ Iconic Tech Pistol). It’s a gut punch, but that gun is now yours.

🚨 Important: If you chose to help Reed capture Songbird in the “Firestarter” mission, you are locked out of The Killing Moon entirely. No Pariah for you on that playthrough, gonk.

“I Killed Reed But Forgot to Loot!”

Don’t panic! CD Projekt Red has our backs. If you forgot to grab the gun from his corpse (or your inventory was bugged), you can buy it later from Herold, the black market weapon dealer inside the EBM Petrochem Stadium in Dogtown. This shady legend holds onto iconics you missed. Just bring eddies. Lots of eddies.

Why Pariah is Worth the Trauma ✨

Let’s get into why this pistol is an absolute beast, especially for my fellow stealth runners.

Owned by Special Agent Solomon Reed. Time-worn, tried, tested and true. Its flavor text says it all, but the stats are insane:

Stat/Modifier Value
Headshot Damage Multiplier +150%
Armor Penetration +50%
Charge Time 0.75 sec
Silent Weapon Built-in suppressor 🎧

And here’s the secret sauce:

Reed’s modifications have turned this into a silent weapon. Headshots reduce charge time and increase reload speed.

What does that mean in practice? Every time you land a fancy headshot, you reload faster and charge quicker – letting you chain headshots like a cyber-ninja. The gun naturally fires a 3-round burst with a standard trigger pull. But if you hold and release the Fire button, all three bullets come out in one supercharged shot. So satisfying.

How I Built Around Pariah 🕵️‍♀️

I’m playing a Cool-focused build with as many Stealth perks as I can cram into my chrome. Here’s my quick perk priority:

  • Ninjutsu → everything that increases headshot damage from stealth.

  • Cold Blood → stacks on kill make me even faster.

  • Cool Attribute → the higher the Cool, the more critical damage you do with silenced weapons.

Pariah already has a built-in suppressor, which means no damage reduction penalty for staying quiet. Most pistols lose punch when you screw on a muzzle, but not this one. It remains lethal and whisper-silent.

I’ve been slicing through gigs in Dogtown, popping Barghest goons before they even know their buddy is flatlined. It almost feels broken. Almost.

Final Thoughts 💭

Getting Pariah hurts because Reed is such a well-written character, and killing him closes a door you can’t open again. But if you’re chasing that perfect stealth weapon, this pistol is top-tier in 2026 – even after all the balance patches from Update 2.0 onward.

Just remember: the haunted look in Reed’s eyes when you pull the trigger? That stays with you. But so does the 150% headshot multiplier. 😅

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Go make some morally questionable choices, chooms.
